Everton completes contract agreement with seventeen-year-old academy prospect from storied club history
Everton has secured a long-term professional contract with 17-year-old midfielder Amari Moses, marking a significant milestone in the young player’s development. Moses has spent more than a decade at the club, steadily progressing through its youth academy system and establishing himself as a prospect for the future.
The midfielder’s new agreement extends through June 2028, cementing his commitment to the Merseyside institution. Moses currently competes for Everton’s Under-18 squad and has made seven league appearances at youth level during the current season. His versatility allows him to operate both centrally and on the flanks, providing tactical flexibility to coaches.
Following the contract signing, Moses expressed pride in reaching this achievement, acknowledging the journey he and his family have undertaken. He emphasized the positive atmosphere surrounding Everton at present and outlined his ambition to eventually join the senior squad. Moses also referenced an upcoming recovery period from injury and his goal to return to competitive form.
Moses holds a unique place in Everton’s recent history, having participated in the inaugural match at Hill Dickinson Stadium in February 2025. The Under-18 side faced Wigan Athletic in a friendly before a 10,000-strong crowd, with Moses entering the match during the second half. Despite his contribution, Everton fell short in a 2-1 defeat.
The club’s first Premier League fixture at the new venue occurred in August 2025, resulting in a commanding 2-0 victory against Brighton. Goals from Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner secured the win, establishing the stadium’s Premier League legacy as Everton continues building toward sustained success.
