Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella receives shock one rating whilst Liam Delap breaks Premier League drought in stunning display

Chelsea suffered a disappointing defeat at Craven Cottage under new manager Liam Rosenior, with the team playing most of the match with ten men. Marc Cucurella was sent off after just 21 minutes for dragging Harry Wilson down while he was through on goal, marking Chelsea’s seventh red card this season and fifth in the Premier League.

Fulham nearly took the lead before halftime when Harry Wilson scored, but the goal was ruled out by VAR for offside in the build-up. Raul Jimenez opened the scoring after 54 minutes with a guided header that proved difficult for Chelsea’s depleted defense to prevent, particularly after Trevoh Chalobah was beaten in the air.

The numerical disadvantage severely hampered Chelsea’s ability to compete effectively. Cole Palmer struggled to find rhythm on the right wing, producing loose touches and losing focus on creating attacking opportunities. Liam Delap provided a bright moment, scoring his first Premier League goal for the club from a corner, which earned Chelsea at least a point rather than a complete loss.

Harry Wilson eventually secured victory for Fulham late in the match with a well-struck half volley into the bottom left corner. Chelsea’s defensive vulnerabilities were exposed repeatedly throughout the second half, with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez appearing hesitant in his positioning at times.

The loss continued Chelsea’s poor run of form, leaving them with just one win in their last nine matches. Rosenior’s squad fell further down the table following the defeat, with discipline and defensive solidity proving major concerns for the club going forward.
