Everton are close to signing a forward from Udinese
The Premier League club, Everton, is on the verge of acquiring a new player. Udinese striker, Beto, is expected to join the Toffees soon. The English side has been struggling with their performance this season and are yet to register a goal.
Currently at the bottom of the league table, Everton hopes that securing Beto will boost their attacking prowess. The £25m forward arrived in Liverpool earlier this week to finalize his medical examination.
Beto Set To Boost Everton’s Attacking Line-Up
The final details between Everton and Italian club Udinese regarding Beto’s transfer are being worked out. With no goals scored so far this season, Sean Dyche’s team desperately needs an offensive upgrade before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Beto could potentially provide much-needed firepower for Everton, who have already suffered three defeats against Fulham, Aston Villa, and Wolves. The Portuguese forward comes with a price tag of approximately £25million.
Last season saw Beto score ten times in 33 Serie A appearances for Udinese which helped them secure a 12th place finish. If everything goes as planned, he will officially become an Everton player after completing his medical tests in Merseyside.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s recurring injuries have further complicated matters for Everton. Despite starting the new campaign, Calvert-Lewin sustained a cheekbone fracture during a match against Aston Villa and is set for another spell on the sidelines.
Scoring has been particularly challenging for Dyche’s squad this season. Last weekend saw them fail to convert any of their 15 shots into goals despite seven attempts being on target during their game against Wolves.
