Bournemouth in talks to sign highly regarded Hungarian left-back
Bournemouth is currently in talks to sign Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez from AZ Alkmaar. The 19-year-old is highly regarded as one of the most talented full-backs in Europe and has a valuation of over £20 million by his club. Other clubs, including Newcastle United, Leicester City, Leeds United, and Borussia Dortmund have also shown interest in Kerkez.
Kerkez was signed by Alkmaar from Hungarian side Gyor but he struggled to make an impact. Since then, he has made 52 appearances for AZ Alkmaar and scored five goals. Despite being born in Serbia, Kerkez has been capped eight times by Hungary.
Benfica is seen as Bournemouth’s main competition for signing Kerkez, as they have been courting him for several months. However, Benfica has been hesitant to meet Alkmaar’s asking price. In addition to pursuing Kerkez, Bournemouth is also interested in Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
