Huge blow for Celtic who lose a player for the rest of the season

Ange Postecoglou, the Celtic boss, has confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers will not play for the rest of the season after their victory over Rangers.

The winger Jota scored the only goal in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers at Hampden Park to set up a meeting with Inverness Caley Thistle in the final. This puts them on course for a Treble this season when they face off with the Scottish Championship side.

Meanwhile, Michael Beale’s team is facing a season without silverware as he continues his search for his first derby day victory since stepping into the Ibrox hotseat.

Despite Jota grabbing all the headlines, Carter-Vickers was also one of the top performers during this game by keeping Alfredo Morelos at bay throughout an intense match at national stadium. However, it has been revealed that he had been playing through pain due to a knee injury which now requires him to take time off and recover from it.

Postecoglou praised both centre-halves but confirmed that “That is Cameron Carter-Vickers last game…We will put him out to pasture for now and let him get what he needs to get done.”
