Brighton: No less than two top clubs follow him, will he succumb to the sirens of his courtiers?

Brighton’s teenage sensation Evan Ferguson is reportedly the subject of a transfer tug-of-war between three clubs. The 18-year-old striker has scored eight goals since his breakthrough into Brighton’s senior team this season, attracting interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.

Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag wants to overhaul his strikeforce by bringing in Ferguson and a more experienced striker, with Harry Kane at Spurs being one of the stars they are most linked with. With Kane potentially leaving Spurs, they see Ferguson as an heir apparent to England’s record goalscorer.

Brighton hopes to tie down Ferguson to a new long-term deal by the end of the month, beating interest from United, Chelsea and Liverpool when they landed him from Bohemians last year.

However, both teams’ efforts could be thwarted if he decides to leave for another club. Despite growing up as a Red Devils fan and idolising Wayne Rooney, playing time has left Ferguson in no rush to leave the South Coast.
